Ray:
I checked the 1855 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Kilrush parish. There was a John Heher who lived in the The Glen Kilrush town. I assume this is the father of the 1856 John Hehir. ( see below).
I also checked www.familysearch.org for other children of John and Margaret and found a baptismal index record for a Bridget born in 1867.

Thanks Roger for your reply
John Hehir 1856-1937 from Kilrush also had a daughter by the name of Bridget Ida Hehir born in Australia 22nd August 1888 and was a younger sister of my grandfather John born 26th March 1884. Eleven children in the family.
Any information on John Hehir's (1856-1937) ancestors would be appreciated if available or clues on how to research from Australia.

Hi Ray,
I have just posted a message on this site regarding the HEHIR/MURPHY family. I am researching this family to try to find a friend's grandmother's ancestors. There is a lot of conflicting information out there.
I'm not sure of the protocols for sharing information. I do have the marriage certificate of John HEHIR b1856/Mary BOLAND and the death certificate of John HEHIR b1856 and baptism entry for John.
Have you had your DNA tested?
Cheers,
