In my search to find a William Broggy, I have traced a family that have lived in Derrymore for many years. This has taken me back to approx 1812 and the era my William Broggy grew up in.
I have been able to connect some other Broggy families to this particular family and has helped me get an overall picture of some of the families.
It becomes apparent that variations of the surname developed such as Broggie, Brogy, Bruggy, Broughy etc.
I have begun collecting records of folk associated with the surname and put them into decades to get an overall picture of who was where and when. Many families emmigrated to England, Canada, America and Australia.
If you are connected to this surname I would be happy to hear from you and perhaps we can help ach other connect or at least get an overall view of this family in Co. Clare. Some families were associated with Limerick and the southern region of Galway.
