I am researching my Family Tree and am trying to find out some more information on my Great Great Grandmothers family
My Great Great Grandmother Bridget Catherine Coghlan (many different spellings of last name) was born about 1862 at Milltown, Malbay, Clare, Ireland
parents Simon Coghlan and Kate O'Brien
believe she had a brother John born 1866
Name: John Coghlin
Gender: Male
Birth Date: 25 Jun 1866
Birth Place: Milltown Malbay, Clare, Ireland
Father's Name: Simon Coghlin
Mother's Name: Kate Obrien
FHL Film Number: 101133
Bridget's death certificate states her father Simon was a farmer.
Any information at all you could give me would be very helpful, parents marriage, Bridget and any other childrens baptisms/birth, deaths of Simon and Kate etc etc. The information I have given is pretty much all I have
many thanks :-)

You may want to contact the parish church in Milltown Malbay to see if they can assist you. Based on a resource book that I have, it looks like RC church records may go back to 1831. http://www.malbayparish.org/contacts.html
You may also want to look at the Clare library site to see if they have any material that would help you.

Hi Roger
Thanks for your reply
I sent the parish an email last night straight after I left this message and have been looking on Clare library site. Haven't been able to find anything I get rather lost in there not really knowing what I am doing :-)
Will wait until I hear back from the church :-)
Thank you for your time

Good news! They responded quickly. The marriage would have been in the Bride's parish so possibly the record is in another church.

Hi Lisa,
I will try to find the townland they lived in for you and will check with the Kilmurray Ibrikane parish for marriage. O Brien a big name in both Kilfarboy and Kilmurray Ibrikane and many marriages between parishes. Incidentally Coughlan is also a name from the Kilmurray Ibrikane parish. Will get back soon.
Regards
Brid
