Hi, I think it would be john & Nora king as Mary's age fits and the story of younger siblings, Mary king came to Australia and had at least two illegitimate sons and we have very limited information as it was all swept under the rug, my grandfather Michael Joseph king was born 1915 and followed by Frank king 1920 born in pentridge prison, Michael was fostered by Margaret shinnick and frank was left in baby home and when he came of age was sent to work station where kids normally took on land owners surnames. Mary king worked in Hamilton on a station when she fell pregnant with Michael and after reports say she stayed with aunt Ellen Doyle in grey st east Melbourne, which looking at paperwork I'm assuming the Doyle is Michael' father relatives as there is a marriage between a Doyle and white and cannot connect any kings to doyle family surnames,

Hi Jody78! That's really interesting. I think we may be distantly related. My great-grandfather is Michael King, who is listed as being 11 years old, on the 1911 census. He married a lady named Bridget (still in Quilty) and had 12 children. My Nan, Josephine King, is one of them. Josephine went to Dublin where she worked as a maid from the age of 12 and came to England when she became an adult. Nearly all of her siblings also live(d) in England. She married my grandad, Owen McDermott, who came from Co. Leitrim and they had 3 children: Geraldine, Josephine and Caroline (my mum) in London (Tottenham specifically). 

My mum married a Londoner and we come from Hertfordshire, England. I am 22 and have a brother, Harry, who is 17. Would love to get in touch. 

Hi Georgina, john and Nora king are definitely my great grandmothers Mary king parents, I've had DNA match to another distant cousin who is in USA, Michael is Mary's brother? As there was a few houses in Quilty that belonged to king families that are related, a lot of same names,john (johnny) king has photo from Leon xIII ship with brothers? They all resemble each other and are short, I'm just trying to find time to go through older census with extended family to match up, do you have genetic bowel cancer in your line of kings? Thank you for replying, my mum is going to be excited as it's very hard and not much to go by, Mary was the only sibling to come to oz, Catherine, Teresa and john Jnr definitely went to New York along with some other king cousins, maybe with all us cousins we can piece it together?

Hi Jody. Wow, that's impressive! Unfortunately I have only just started out on my quest to find out more about my Mum's side of the family, so my knowledge is somewhat limited for now. 

I have not seen that picture, but I would love to see it. My Nan is very small and she, as well as a few of her siblings, have suffered from bowel cancer (or general bowel problems) which leads me to believe the link between us even more! We still go back to that area frequently as my Aunt Geraldine lives in Miltown Malbay, which is not far from Quilty. In fact, my Mum and I are going there in April.

Hi Georgina, hope all is well, I just wanted to inform you that our Michael king are two different people, mine died in 1922 from accidentally being shot in the chest from a fellow solider in the IRS at Galway and on his reports he was 19 and unmarried with no children.
