Fennell Family

I searched on the Find My Past data base that has Co. Clare church records. I searched from 1855-1865 and did not see a record for a Patrick Fennell with the parents you mentioned. Here is a link to the parish register for Newmarket on Fergus in case you want to search the register. http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0800  Also could not find a marriage record for a Patrick Fennell to a Margaret McNamara.

Thanks for looking Roger  I know that I have found them in the past   I thought it was Kilnasalougha?   But couldn't find that parish      I found the Fennells in this record      If you look at the very bottom ofthe page you see Michael Fennel and Ann Barry having a child   That child is my Great Great Grandfather Patrick   I have found other Fennels in that register as well     I was hoping to find his wife but I think they got married here in USA    (NYC)  They came over in 1880's I was hoping that there may still be some trace of family left in Clare    I had great success with my Grandfathers family  Sheridan       Let me dig a little to see if I can find where I found that register    I do use Family Search  that is very good for finding records     Danny Sheridan DanielPSheridan@gmail.com

Maybe I should use Family Search more often. I didn't realize they had baptismal records. I've been relying on Find My Past but they did not do a quality job in converting the parish register records. Maybe only 50% of the records converted properly. Roots Ireland only has records for 7 of the 47 RC parishes which means you have to look for other resources.

Kilnasoolagh is the spelling for the townland and the small civil parish of the same name.

Hi Roger We will be over in July for a wedding in Doonbeg Lodge  I was hoping to find some trace of the Fennells while I am over. I plan on seeing the town anyway  It would be nice to find some family there
