I am hoping that someone may have knowledge on the Hickey family from Ballygirreen, who I think moved to Fedamore,Co Limerick around the 1850's or 1860's. Daniel and Mary were my great great great grandparents and I know for sure of the following children, Mary, who was my great great grandmother and Margaret and Arthur.
From extensive searching of church records in Co Clare, I have concluded that they came from Ballygireen. Daniel married Mary Corbett in 1837 and they had seven children that I could find, Rodger? 1838, Peter? 1840, Catherine 1842, Mary1844, Martin 1845, Margaret 1848 or 1849 and Daniel 1856.. I couldn't find an Arthur, but an Arthur stood for Mary.
I remember reading somewhere that the river Fergus had drainage works carried out in the mid 1800's and I wonder did people leave the area at that time. The Hickeys worked in various capacities at the big house in Fedamore.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Sean:
Many thanks for your post to the Ireland Reaching Out message board and welcome to the site!
There is a local contact in that area who I will ask about the Hickey family. I will revert to you on this thread in the next week or so.
In the meantime, you might also check the Clare Library website (you may be familiar with it already) as it has a lot of very good online resource material available.
Thank you for your interest in Ireland Reaching Out.
All the best,
Jane.
