Any information to tie records in U.S. to Ireland. Specifically, Frank Matthew Grady traveled from Ireland in 1850 with his brothers to the United States. I have been able to discover information about him, his family (he married Antoinette Dunn) and his brothers and their family forward, but unable to go back in time prior to 1850. Rumor is his father and mother put the brothers on a ship to the U.S., but the parents stayed behind with possibly their daughters. Rumor also is that they grew up along the Shannon, somewhere between Scarriff and Mountshannon or Whitegate.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
The Scarriff RC records do not start until 1852 but possibly they belonged to a different parish. Do you know the name of the father? The other problem for now is that very few RC parishes are online for Co. Clare but that will change in a month or so.

Thank you for your reply.
Unfortunately, regarding the father's name, that is where I am stuck. What I have is Francis "Frank" Matthew Grady was born in Ireland in 1829 and immigrated to the U.S. on 11 Sep. 1850, along with his brother James (born 1834). The reason I narrowed it to County Clare is that county is written on the burial documents.
Also unfortunately I have yet to uncover any records or artifacts that lead me to an exact location in Ireland or to solve this mystery.
I appreciate your suggestions.

Sometime in March, Find My Past plans to provide data from all the RC parishes for searching. FMP is a subscription site. If Francis was baptized in a church other than Scarriff possibly the record is available and will show up when FMP released the records. If you want to recontact me at the end of march, I will see if I can find a record for Francis Grady.
