Stephen White - Sixmilebridge Clare

You don't mention the religious denomination but I will assume RC. The Sixmilebridge RC records start in December 1828 http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0812  however they are not on Roots Ireland. I looked at Find My Past and they had about 14 baptismal records for White children and the last record was in 1858 which implies to me that they cleared out from the area and possibly emigrated. Likely the fathers of some of these children were sons of your Stephen White.. I found two where the father was Stephen White and the mother was a Bridget. The register is very hard to read on both records and the maiden name of Bridget was cutoff possibly was Maye. I'm guessing this is the Stephen White that you found in the Griffiths for Kilfinaghta.

Thank you again Roger for your assistance. I have looked at the parish of Sixmilebridge and also Cratloe for my family on NLI. It is quite a challenge to troll through all those records, nonetheless they are a treasure to behold! I am hoping other decsendants of Stephen White see my post or post a query of their own. I agree with you, in that I think all of my Clare family (not just White) emigrated to various parts of the world. I guess we are back to, getting on with the DNA thing then!
