I am researching my ancestral history and will be visiting Ireland from 12 May to 2 June 2022 to do research.
Thomas Dempsey was my Great Great Great Grandfather, reportedly born in Bandon in 1784. He married Ann Sutton (born 1785 in Ireland) in 1820 in the Diocese of Cork and Ross. They emigrated to New Brunswick (Canada) between 1826 and 1830 with two young boys (John and William John), settling in New Bandon, New Brunswick.
I am looking for birth and baptismal records for both in order to discover who their parents were. I also wish to look for Dempsey graves in Bandon and Cork.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Dan,
Please see attached.
It appears that Thomas and Ann were members of the Church of Ireland Community.
In the attached record, Thomas is recorded as being in the Linen trade.

Dan,
I attach some further detail on the parish of Lislee. It is recorded as being c10 miles South West of Bandon. I did not find any record of a "Dempsey" in the Tithe Records - 1823 - 1837. There are some records of the surname "Dempsey" in Lislee baptism register who are Roman Catholic, but the mother is not Ann Sutton.

Thanks for your assistance McCoy. I am now in Dublin and am heading down to Bandon tomorrow to continue my research. It seems there are no other digitized records to be found for Thomas and Ann so I will try and see if there are any local records available. Regards, Dan
