Following William Smith, a labourer possibly born about 1800. His son married in 1853 at Glendermott Meeting House at full age who was Hamilton Smyth,resident at New Buildings and was a labourer. His spouse was Isabella (Bella) Burke a resident at Cullion and daughter of James Burke, Labourer. They were Presbyterians but also at times Church of Ireland. Children were born June 8th 1856 James - Rossnagalliagh. Hamilton Dec18th 1862 Ballyor. Mary Jane July 19th 1865 New Buildings. Annie April 18th 1868 Glendermott. John Feb 26th 1871 Glendermott.

Anyone with an interest in Smith/Smyth from this parish see connections. Hamilton born 1862 moved to Glasgow about 1882/3 and Married Mary Loughrey from Donegal.

  • This is most interesting David.  I have a William Logue who married Isabella Smyth on 24 Nov 1853.  Her father was Hamilton.  His father was John.  Marriage waas at Glendermott First Presbyterian. It looks as though possibly Isabella was a sister of your Hamilton. My Logues are variously Presbyterian and Church of Ireland too.
