I have hit a road block and am looking for any information on my 2nd great grand parents.
Francis Donaghy (b:1855) and Margaret McCann (b:1864) were married in 1881 (possibly 30 Jan.)
The 1901 census says they lived in Lissan Lower, Tyrone, Ireland
Margaret was originally from Moneymore.
They had 12 children (11 survived)
One of their sons was my GGF, Patrick J. Donaghy
(b:1891, d:1974) His name is the same as his brother that died after birth.
I am hoping to find an close location to where they lived and possibly their parents names.
Thanks to any information you can provide.
P.S. I've attached the only known photo of them.

Hi Daniel
There are 2 church marriage records and 2 civil marriage records for Francis & Margaret on www.rootsireland.ie/ (subscription site) 2 are Derry & 2 Tyrone
I'm not a NI expert but perhaps the parishes were counted in both counties?
Looks like the fathers were John Donaghy & Michael McCann
The records don't cut & paste well but looks like their ages are 22 & 20 so born 1858 & 1860.
Here's a likely birth record for each:
You might like to subscribe for a short while to look for the parents' marriages; the records MAY have their parnets' names to help you keep working back.
You may also try free sites such as Griffiths Valuation, the Tithe Applotments & the earlier censuses.

I can confirm that the date of the marriage was 30.1.1881. Registered in Cookstown. You can view certificates on-line on the GRONI website, using the ?search registrations? option:
(You will need to open an account and buy some credits. It costs ?2 to a view a certificate). The marriage certificate should give you both parties father?s names.
The townland where Frances was farming in 1901 was Dunmore (which is in the Lissan Lower electoral district).
Looking at the revaluation records for Dunmore, I can see that an Edward Donaghy had plot 43 in the townland until 1898. Francis? name appears against some land on plot 41 (11 acres) but no house is shown. Then in 1910 he appears taking over plot 40 which is a farmhouse and 20 acres. So I am not sure where he was living prior to that. Perhaps residing with Edward?

Plot 40 today is on Dunmore Lane, by Clagan bridge, off the Lough Fea road. It?s beside the little river that runs down the glen from Lough Fea. Looking at the property on google earth, there?s a farm there today on what was plot 41, though whether the buildings are original are hard to tell as the image isn?t very high quality.
