Hello everyone I am looking for information on my Sweeney Roots. I have my Great Great Grand Father Francis Sweeney born 1855 in Glenties County Donegal. I know that he imigrated on September 29th 1879 and traveled on the S.S. Bolivia to New York and went from there to Luzern County where he met his wife Anna Kennedy. His parents were said to be Michael "Mic" Sweeney and Sara Sweeney no maiden name found. He had a sister Anna who married a Packie Brennan and they settled in Ardara and they had 4 children Des, Joseph, Sally, and Angela. I do know that Angel became a Nun in the Mary Knol order and worked with the needy in New York. If anyone has any info please let me know. Any help will be appriciated.

As you can see from the link below, Inishkeel is a civil parish in Co. Donegal:
Records for the corresponding Roman Catholic Parish of Glenties begin in 1866. As this is the case there will be no church records available for baptism or marriage events before that date. You could check familyseach.org and/or rootsireland.ie just in case Francis and his siblings were born in another parish where records may begin earlier.
