Hi all,

My great-great-grandmother Mary CROTHERS/CARRUTHERS/CARROTHERS married Richard DAWSON, a farm labourer from Magheragall, in Annahilt, Co. Down in 1859, then they and their son Thompson DAWSON (born Magheragall abt. 1860) emigrated to New Zealand aboard the "British Empire" in 1864. I found from the civil register of marriage that Mary's father was a James CARROTHERS and I'm assuming he was local, but that's as far as I've been able to trace back. Any help would be appreciated :-)
