I am looking descendants of Fanny McClurg who erected the tombstone of Gilbert Stevenson who was buried at Carrowdore Graveyard South of Ballywalter.Fanny McClurg was a Grand-daughter of Gilbert Stevenson 1812- 7 March 1898,& is my Great,Great Grandfather, and his son James Stevenson 1839-1894 imigrated to New Zealand and arrived in Lyttleton,NZ on the "Evening Star" 15 April 1863,as did Jame's siblings Adam Stevenson born 1945 and Agnes Stevenson born 1842,who arrived on board  the "British Empire" in Lyttlyton,NZ 6 September 1864.

Gilbert Stevenson  bequeath to Fanny (spelt Fany in the will) McClurg the farm of land house  all buildings and all  I know do or may possess, together with chattels also household  furniture.p.s.This is the last & final Will & Testiment of Gilbert Stevenson dated 19 April 1897 at Belfast,Northern Ireland.

Gilbert Stevenson was married to Fanny Scott 1815-1894,and their son James Stevenson was married to Mary McVeigh 1843-12  June 1928, at St. Andrews  Presbyterian Church,Tuuam Street,Christchurch on 10 January 1867,& are buried at Pleasant Point Cemetary,South Canterbury,New Zealand.

Mary McVeigh's parent were Daniel McVeigh  1814-26 April 1891 and Rose Mulholland 1814-17 September 1889.Both Daniel McVeigh & Rose Mulholland were born in Glenavy,County Antrim,Northe Ireland,& arrived at Lyttelton,Christchurch,New Zealand on the "John Temperly"  with five of their children, whereas Rose McVeigh & Mary McVeigh arrived at Lyttleton on the "Metropolis" on the 16 June 1863,and Margaret  McVeigh & her husband Thomas Yarr arrived from County Antrim on The "Chrysolite" on the 15 April 1861.

It might be a coincidence but I notice that the Mulholland family have owned Ballywalter Park Masion for over 150 years, and am wondering if there is a connection with Rose Mulholland who married our Daniel McVeigh. If anyone in Ballywalter can help me with piecing our family tree it would be much appreciated.

p.s.I have attached Gilbert Stevenson's will and also photos of my Great Grandparents James Stevenson & Mary McVeigh.I live in Wellington,New Zealand.

Thanks Very Much

Sorry, I can?t be of more help right now. Please be patient - as our programme has only begun to rollout across the island of Ireland and volunteers in some areas may not yet be organized.
