I am from new Zealand and have located one of our ancestors from bright
Ralph Black recorded as being from Ballygilbert born 1787
Husband of Eliza Jane Irwin Chr 16 may 1789 parish Magheralin
they left Ireland and went to Scotland
had 6 children of which one, Ralph the son, emigrated to Australia.
Any information would be welcome especailly about where they lived, worked etc.
We are coming to ireland and will pass through County Down in early August

The 1863 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing showed a James Black in Castlescreen townland in Bright parish. http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/down/bright.htm
Looks like the same James was living in Castlescreen in the 1901 census.
