From RootsIreland, here is the transcription of a baptism for a Mary McCann of Lusk, parents John and Ellen. This Mary was baptized in 1841. If that was her birth year, she is a lot younger than your ancestor was said to be in 1880. But as ages vary widely in records and as people at the time were not necessarily aware of their age, it could be your Mary.

Thank you so much for that information. I don't think that is our Mary, she was 18 when arriving in Australia in 1849. We can't be sure that she was 18 but I doubt there could be that much difference.
