I have hit a brick wall finding information on Dennis Maguire. Hopefully someone may have information for me. I know my 4xGreat Grandfather lived in County Fermaugh. I derived the Perish of BoHo from the Griffiths Valuation. Here is what I know.
Dennis Maguire born about 1810 died about 1855 in County Fermaugh. His wife's name was Mary
His children: Elizabeth Maguire born 1830 in County Fermaugh, died 1907
Thomas Maguire born 1831 in County Fermaugh, died 1913 in Maine, United States
Francis Maguire born about 1832 in County Fermaugh, died 1881 in Boston, Massachusetts, United States
Margaret Maguire born 1835 in Country Fermaugh, Died 1860 in Boston, Massachusetts, United States
Sarah Jane Maguire born about 1836 in County Fermaugh
Ellen Maguire born about 1840 in County Fermaugh, Died 1888 in Boston, Massachusetts, United States
Any information would be appreciated.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
Can you clarify the Griffiths Valuation data and how you know that Boho was the parish for the Maguires. The Griffiths was taken in Co. Fermanagh around 1861-1862 and if Dennis died in 1855 but possibly hiw widow Mary would be listed if she was alive.
The best clue may come from Elizabeth. Did she marry or was she single? Do you have a death record? I can see at least two civil death index records for Elizabeth Maguires who died in Co. Fermanagh in 1907.

Thanks for the quick reply! Your question made me go back and reexamine my information and I wrote down the wrong information about Dennis Maguire. I confused the information with my 4th Great Grandfather with my 3rd, they are both Dennis Maguire. Dennis Maguire Sr was born about 1785 and I "believe " he died in 1855 in the Enniskillen workhouse with his wife Mary. I got that information from the Enniskillen workhouse inmate list. Dennis Maguire Jr. Was Married to Ann Maguire. (According to marriage and death records here in Boston Maguire was Ann's maiden name.) I found on the Enniskillenn Workhouse inmates list a Ann Maguire that matched her age that died in 1850. I am not sure they are the right Maguires in Boho and this is where I hit the wall. How to I verify the lineage?

Researching in Co. Fermanagh is more difficult that most other counties. I was unable to locate a Denis Maguire baptismal record with a father named Denis in Co. Fermanagh. As you likely know, Maguire is very common in that county.
Do you have any other information on Elizabeth who apparently died in Fermanagh in 1907. Did she marry?
You may also want to consider autosomal DNA testing.

Thank you again Roger.
I have no other information about Elizabeth. However I will focus my attention on her and see what I can come up with. One other point.
As a point of interest in every record I have found Dennis is always spelled with two letter n. I noticed you spelled it with just one.
I have done a DNA test through ancestry.com. I am not sure how to use that effectively or if I should do another one that you recommend.
Thank you again for your help.

I live in the States like you near Baltimore. We always spelled Dennis with two "Ns". After spending a lot of time with Irish records transcribing censuses etc, I realized that in Ireland they spelled the name with one "N" so I do likewise when working on the IRO responses. The saint was spelled with one"N".
I have tested with Ancestry and Family Tree DNA. I prefer Family Tree because they have better analytical tools. Ancestry can show you the trees for your matches but only about 25% of the matches have their trees public. Also, no matter what company you test with, getting a response from a match you e-mail is problematic.
There is also a site called Gedmatch www.gedmatch.com Gedmatch is a volunteer site where you can load your raw DNA data from Ancestry and see if you match someone who tested with another company (and also loaded their data to Gedmatch).
