Hello All,
I am looking for some basic regional history. Did Scots-Irish folk move south into Magheraculmoney and surrounding parishes for economic reasons in the late 18th century? I am tracking a family from Derry/Antrim around Coleraine, many of whom migrated early to US but I am hypothesizing that some moved south to Fermanagh--specifically Stranadariff, Edenaglogh, Carradoo Glebe (Tyrone) areas--for land or work. This particular fellow (working as a weaver in Philadelphia) comes to the US during the famine but DNA matches with ties to Castlederg also end up in Canada in the 1830s. Can anyone point me to regional histories that might shed some light?

Dear Anna
The Flax Growers List of 1796 lists a good many for Co. Fermanagh including those for the parish of Magheraculmoney so what you think could indeed be the case. Some of these links might be helpful especially the Clogher Historical Society who publish a journal.
Best wishes
