Has anyone has any records of any Dooley's in Clonbrock 1826 to 1852? We found a Tithe Applotment record of Edward Dooley renting in Park, Killallaghtan, Ballinasloe from Lord Clonbrock 1826. As his daughter Mary Dooley was registered in the Mt Bellew Poorhouse 1852, and was said to have originated from Clonbrock, we are wondering if Edward and his family moved to another residence in Clonblock. Perhaps he worked for Lord Clonbrock?

Another clue:
Apparently all the local Dooley men were Blacksmiths according to an elderly man who lives in Castleblakeney. He said at one time they lived in Cloonpee, then when the land commission came in and divided the farms of the big landlords, the families moved to better houses in Pallas townland, which is only along the road. They are possibly our relatives as no one moved far there unless they went ot Englan,d USA or in our case Australia.

Good Morning.
Thanks for your message. Please have a look at the message board under Caltra parish. From looking at your message, I would assume they are the same Dooleys. I know 2 Dooley families that live in the area. One of them used to be a Blacksmith. I will pass on your message, and see if they are connected to your ancestors.
