Peadar - I'm confused. Is Glencoh a part of Kilcummin Oughterard, Rosmuc or Turlough? Different records for the same family list those three areas. My Naughtons' and Conneelys' come from Glencoh although it seems that at different times some also lived in Glentrasna. Are those two towns close enough that there would have been interaction between the people of the two? How did people travel in the late 1800s/early 1900s there? They seemed to have all been farmers. What would their crop be, and where would they sell it?
Most of my ancestors left there before 1900. I wonder if this had to do with the famine. And, I wonder if there are any Naughtons/Conneelys left in Glencoh. And, if so, how are they doing? I've seen old pictures taken there of stone cottages. Would things seem to be the same, or has modernization taken over?
Any help you can give me Peadar will be greatly appreciated!
