Speaking to a Patrick Murphy recently who's wife is Rita Marie Murphy a cousin of mine and they live in Chicago.

  They visit Ireland every year to meet up with relations

Patrick Murphy's father was born in a public house in main street Brosna Co Kerry Ireland. 

The public house has  changed hands on several occassions since the Murphy's owned it.

The name of the man who owned it at one time was Shean Flynn who came from Abbeyfeale Co Limerick.

Who's wife was Ita O' Connor from Brosna Co Kerry Ireland.

Patrick Murphy's father Emigrated to America at a young age, and he married an American woman of Irish parents. 

The name I think was Mc/Cormick from Kilmalock Co Limerick Ireland.

Patrick has a lot of relations who joined the order of nuns and priests. 

Some of them live in Dublin and Cork.

Maybe these are the Murphy's you are trying to connect with.

Also there was Murphy's who came from Meenleitrim Knocknagoshel which was once in the parish of Brosna Co Kerry. 

They also had a lot of priests and nuns in the family

One of them was a Denis Murphy from Glenashrone Abbefeale Co Limerick who was married to my aunt.

Denis Murphy's father was Barthalomew Murphy from Meenleitrim Knocknagoshel Co Kerry. 

Bathalomew Emigrated to America and married Elizabeth Ahearn from outside Newcastle-West Co Limerick.

There was a lot of Priests and nuns in that Murphy family.

Denis Murphy's uncle Fr Dan Murphy is buried in the church grounds in Knocknagoshel Co Kerry.

Also there was a Richard ( Dick ) Murphy who owned a grocery shop in church street Knocknagoshel Co Kerry.

Who has some connection to the Murphy's of Ahane Brosna Co Kerry Ireland.
