  • Hi Marriella

    See here:

The Churchtown North Cork Landlord  William Wrixon Beecher ESQ  selected the O'Sullivan family from Churchtown North Cork to take part in the Peter Robinson Settler scheme.

    Who traveled:

Bartolomew O'Sullivan age 43, farmer who lost a big part of his land

Hid wife Mary  O'Sullivan nee Robinson age 34

    Son John age 21

    Son Thomas age 16

    Son Cornelius age 13

    Son Jeremiah age 7

    Daughter Ellen age 2

They left the harbour of Cobh county Cork 13th May 1825

They were given a plot  in  Emily Gore

If you would like to get in touch with the people in Churchtown were many O'Sullivan members till live (could be related) please feel free to visit our Ireland Reaching Out  Churchtown page on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/pages/Churchtown-Liscarroll-Reaching-Out/29707…

In 1833 there was still a Dennis Sullivan living in the townland of Coolmore in Churchtown County Cork (5 minutes up the road from were I live)

Hope this helps a bit and also hope to see you on our Facebook page were you can meet the Churchtown people

    Regards

  • The older Cornelius Sullivan in the Peter Robinson Emigration is my 3g gf.  It can get confusing because there were about 7 Sullivan families in the Emigration, and they were chosen not to be related to each other!  The family was from Listowel, Kerry, in 1825, though my gg gm Mary Sullivan, his dau, seems to have been born in Dingle town.

Online trees seem to differ as to whether Cornelius Sullivan's wife was a Costello or a Murphy ...

I have two connections with this family.  The direct connection:

    Mary Sullivan + William Scollard

    John Scollard + Catherine O'Connor

Mary Loretta Scollard + Paul Joseph Moloney ...

    and the avuncular connection:

Patrick Cornelius Sullivan (Mary's brother) + Mary Moloney (Paul Joseph's aunt)
