I'm trying to learn more about who my ancestors were and where they came from. I have not been able to trace beyond my great grandfather, Patrick O'Connor. I believe he came from Duagh and was born approx. 2 Feb. 1878, emmigrating to New York City approx. 1900. I am not sure who his parents were, but I have heard possible names are Thomas O'Connor and Ellen Ryan or Daniel O'Connor and Mary Lynch.
After arriving in New York, he married Bridget Clerkin, who emmigrated from Co. Monaghan. One of their daughters, my great aunt Mary O'Connor, kept a written correspondence with relatives still in Ireland, but all traces ended with her death in 1992 and her letters were lost.
Please let me know if you have any information that might give me a clue in learning more about my O'Connor ancestors.

Hi My name is Tom O`Connor,and I was born in Glasgow Scotland and now live in Canada.in the 1911 census my Fathers Family lived in Clonkeelan Co Cavan,which is only a short distance from Clones.
my Grandparents names were Patrick & Mary O`Connor they were Married in Monaghan in 1881
