I have some cousins from Australia who are visiting Duagh. The have been photographing family infromation from the parish records. So far, I have my great great grandfather Phillip Connor's baptism in my possession. The record indicates the family resided in Shanavalla, but there is no Shanavalla Townland in Duagh. The closest name I can find is Shanafona. I also found another Duagh record with Shanavalla listed as a placename on Church Records site. Does anyone have any idea what Shanavalla is referring to? On another note, it appears there are many errors on the Church Records transcription from Duagh. My cousins noted several discrepencies. For example, the site listed Phillip's mother as Joanna Connor, but the image indicates Joanna Connell.
