I have narrowed my search of my Hallissy ancestors to Templenoe Parish, Kenmare Catholic parish, Rossocoosane, County Kerry, Ireland. My grnadfather, Timothy Hallissy, (his father was Thomas) was born in 1832. His parents, Thomas and Mary Casey were married in February of 1826 in Kenmare. All indications are they were not wealthy or landowners. Were their estates in this area in the early 1800's? If so, are their records from the estate/s online? Any help is appreciated.

Hi Margaret,
The whole area around Kenmare was under the control of the Landsdowne Estate, during the famine they financed an assisted emigration programme to the US and Canada. The estate records are not online but they do exist. There are some online records for people who emigrated under the scheme.

Thanks for your help. Is there any way to access the Landsdowne Estate records? Or, should I give up looking for my ancestors (Hallissy) in Kenmare, County Kerry.
Appreciate your help.
