I am researching the Collins family from Killeentierna Co. Kerry. My Great Grandfather emigrated to the United States in the the mid to late 1870's. His name was Jeremiah Collins and he was born in 1851. His Father was Timothy Collins and his mothers name was Honora. His children were named Timothy, Honora, Jeremiah, Mary, John, Anna, Alice, Patrick, William, Elizabeth, and Catherine.
I believe that this is his Baptism record, and his mothers maiden name was Honora Collins.
Baptism of JEREMIAH COLLINS of CURRENS on 6 December 1851
Father TIMOTHY COLLINS
Mother HONORA COLLINS
Sponsor 1 TIMOTHY RUSSELL
Sponsor 2 MARGARET CONNELL
I am interested in this family record as possibly related.
KILLEENTIERNA
Father JOHN COLLINS
Mother MARGARET CASEY
TIMOTHY COLLINS born 28 September 1825
JEREMIAH COLLINS born 8 July 1828
JOHN COLLINS born 3 September 1830
MARGARET COLLINS born 9 January 1834
Griffiths Valuation Records show property in Currans occupied by a Timothy Collins in 1853 at the present location of Daly's Riverside Inn. The property on the other side of the river was occupied by a Patrick Collins, and a John Collins was on a farm nearby down the road.
As it appears that both of my Paternal Grandparents had the Collins Surname I am interested in any information about the Collins families in the Currans and surrounding areas related to my family or not. Any information is useful even if it only serves to eliminate potential leads.
I would like to know if anyone knows the possible location of the graves of Timothy and Hanora Collins from the mid to late 1800's.
Possible connections to these families;
CONNELL, BROSNAN, CASEY, RUSSELL, BYRNES, BURKE, and CULLINANE
Thank You, Jerry Collins

Hello Meghan,
As you probably read in my post, the area I am investigating is Killeentierna. Was the Collins family of which you are referring
from that part of Ireland?

Jerry,
We are actually unsure of exactly where they came from. all we do know ( from research) is that they came to the US in the 1870's from County Kerry, Ireland. my grandfather Thomas Collins never knew his father.. his father was killed in December 1926 my grandfather was born in June 1927. His father Jeremiah Collins was 20 years old at the time of his death.birth approx 1906

With more information it may be possible to find the marriage
or port of entry record of an early ancestor that might tell you more
about your ancestors in Ireland.
Who emigrated to the US in the 1870's was it William Collins?
What part of the US were Patrick, Jeremiah and Thomas born?
What were the names of William, Patrick, and Jeremiah's spouses?
I had some success with this process, and I would like to help if I can.
