I'm planning another trip to Ireland in the next year and have hit a brick wall with my research. I would like to be able to trace exactly where my ancestors were from(old homestead etc.)
Looking for any information on my Great Grandparents, William Dooling born in 1848, and Mary Agnes Stack born in 1852, both I beleive are from the Ballybunion area.
I don't have any information on William's Parents he came to NY around 1868. Not sure if there are any Dooling's still in the Ballybunion area.
Mary's parents were James Stack and Ellen O'Connor(Connor) she came to NY around 1872. I know there are probably several different Stack and O'Connor branches in the area. But which one! Would love to be able to connect with any living Stacks Doolings or O'Connors relatives!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
www.irishgenealogy.ie is a free Irish government site which has Co. Kerry church records. I located two possible records for William and the likely record for Mary Stack. Let me know.
By the way, there are two Stack families in the 1901 census for Ballyeagh.

Hi Roger,
Thank you so much for the information! I have seen those birth records and know that the Mary Stack record is my Great Grandomother. The Willam Dooling's I'm not sure of but I would have to go with the 1848 record, William died in 1924 at the age of 78 which would make his birth year 1846, this birth record is 1845, very close.
I have been uncertain about that record because of his mother having the same last name. His death certficate states that his father was William Dooling and his mother as Mary Dooling. I didn't think that was correct. On my Keenan side I had a situation where both the parents had the same last name and the same first name as the deceased and the same first name as his wife and found out that they were incorrect. I don't think the American born chiildren knew their grandparents names since they probably never met and the parents probably never dicussed it with them. Leaving them no choice but to fill out the death certificate by guessing. Was it common to marry a relative or I guess a distant relative? Or maybe they filled the birth record incorrectly.
As for the census records do you think there is a connection perhaps a sibling of Mary's?
Thanks,
Bill

Bill:
Some priests did show the married surname for the mother but normally it was the maiden name. It is also possible that they were related 2nd cousins or greater.
Likely the census records are for relatives of Mary.
