    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

The Annascaul RC parish records start in 1829 so there would not be a baptismal record fro Patrick

I did a search on www.irishgenealogy.ie which is a free site that has Co.Kerry church records and did not see any pertinent records. I assume Patrick and Mary married in America?

Have you considered autosomal DNA testing?

  • Hello Roger - Thank you for your kind reply. I have done the Ancestry DNA testing which led me in this direction. I have a match with a "distant cousin" and the only potential connection is through the Currans. He is connected to a tree which has Annascaul as the homeplace for Patrick. A message with one of his aunts states that she has that name through a family story.

I also see different last names for his wife Mary - I've seen O'Neill and Connor. I'll keep looking.

  • Hi Mary,

I saw your post here and thought I would add something here instead of on Ancestry.  I have Mary's last name as Connor and they married in Ireland in 1823 and I have their four children being born there also  The first in 1825 and all list in County Kerry, Ireland.

I'm on a train at present but I would use Sheila's very helpful lead and go to www.irishgenealogy.ie and search for Patrick Curran in Kerry. Add Connor in the box for a secondary name and you should get the records that Sheila found.
