Our family has little to go on. My great-grandfather (we are fairly certain) came from County Kerry. His name was William Patrick Lynch, born June 15, 1873 or possibly 1872. His wife, my great-grandmother, was Ellen (nickname Nellie) Sheehan, born May 19, 1877 or possibly 1873. She had a twin sister named Nora. They both came from County Kerry. William and Ellen married in 1896 in Chicago. Ellen had another sister named Josephine and a brother Jack. We are trying to find out any information someone may have about both families, so that we can start piecing together everything. Thank you.

Dear Saldad,
I have found 2 possibilities in the online records
http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/8acd110275977
http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/e2bca00374673
Next step would be to check if either of them married in Ireland as this would rule them out.
There are 1,219 Ellen Sheehans
and 1,652 Nora Sheehans
Cross referencing them is arduous but not impossible. An easier possibility is to get a marriage certificate for William and Ellen which if it is RC should contain their parents names.
I found this link for marriages in Chicagoilliam and Ellen/Nellie
Let me know if any thing pops! Did all Ellen's sibs move to Chicago or did anyone stay at home? I might have more luck finding the ones who stayed in Ireland and via them the family of origin.
Have you checked naturalisation records? and census returns?
I look forward to hearing from you.

There is someone on Ancestry.com with the same family. I'm assuming that's you? The family was living at 320 Oakley in 1920. I found this 1921 death record transcription at the same address that includes William's parents names of William and Johanna.
Unfortunately I think you have to go to Cook County and pay for the actual document these days.
I looked in the 1901 Irelland census and didn't see any Williams old enough to be his father. There are several Johanna's of which a few are widows.

As I was looking I did see the deaths of Nellie and a couple of the sons. If you don't have the info, let me know and I'll give you the links.
