I am searching for further information on my Sheehan ancestors who lived in Tooreencahill/Gneevaguila/Coom area.
My 3rd Great Grandfather was Denis Sheehan, born 1795 Co.Cork, died 1870 Tooreencahill. He married Ellen Shea, born 1798 Gortagullane, Killarney, died 1865 Tralee, Co.Kerry. They had 7 children.
His son Denis (Deonyrie) born 1821 Coom, died 1875 Tooreencahill. He married Mary Fitzgerald (1833-1920) in Rathmore Catholic Church in 1855 and had 11 children.
His Grandson (my Great Grandfather) Jeremiah born 1862 Tooreencahill , died 1945 Melbourne, Australia. Jeremiah was baptised in the Catholic Church in Rathmore. He emigrated to Australia in 1884 where he married Margaret O'Rielly 1868-1947 and had 9 children.
I would welcome any more information, particularly extending futher back from my 3rd Great Grandfather.
