I am searching for relatives of Thomas Dailey/Johanna Connell. Thomas was born abt 1802 in Scartaglin, Kerry; Johanna born abt 1804 in Tralee. They married 21 Oct 1826 at Castleisland. I don't know when Thomas died, but Johanna died in 1904 in Iowa, USA. Thomas's father was Andrew Dailey; Johanna's father was Daniel Connell. They had five children of record:
Andrew b. Sept 1827, Castleisland; d. 28 Jul 1899, Melrose, Iowa, USA
William b. abt 1828 in Ireland; d. in Ireland; marr. Maggie Lynch
Mary b. abt 1832, Ireland; d. Ireland; marr. Edward Healy 15 Jun 1858, Castleisland
Matthew (my g-grandfather) b. 4 Jun 1834, Tralee; d. 10 Aug 1916 Melrose Iowa USA; marr. Johanna Clifford 23 Apr 1863 in King Williamston, Bally Desmond, Cork. They immigrated to America shortly after they married.
Honora (Nora) b. abt Jun 1840 Barna, Scartaglin; christened 28 Jun 1840 in Castleisland; d. in Ireland; marr. Daniel Curran
Hoping to find further connections, i.e. both of their parents, siblings, and perhaps current cousins whom I don't know yet.

Dear Daileydl,
there is one Daly family still living in Scartaglin in 1901
The earliest online church record for Daly Scartaglin is 1823
There are still Daly's living in Scartaglin in 1911
There is a current record of a John Daly listed here owning a ruined house and land http://www.valoff.ie/search/search_summary.asp
This Daly could be a relation if the land is a family farm. Your next step would be to contact directory enquires to see if there is a telephone listed.
Do you have these records?
Or these ones for Mary Daly and Edward Healy?
The next step would be to look for these names in the 1901 and 1911 census as above.
Do let me know.. thank you for the excellent information you have supplied to us so far.
Martine
