A friend is traveling to Ireland the end of August 2024. His father, John Patrick Donoghue, was from Cuhig, born in 1907. I was able to find the family in the 1911 census: Father Geoffrey, mother Abby, 3 children, John Patrick was age 3. What RC parish would this be in? Would anyone know what church John Patrick and siblings would have been baptized? And if there are any online records? I can't find the family in Griffith's. Does anyone know how I would find either where they lived in 1911? It seems Cuhig is a small townland. Townland: Cuhig, Civil parish: Tuosist, Parliamentary Div: South Kerry, Poor Law Union: Kenmare, DEV: Glenmore. Thanks so very much!

Chris,
Attached is the civil birth record for John and I believe the marriage record for his parents. He was born in the RC parish of Tuoist which borders the RC parish of Eyeries in Cork. It was customary for the couple to marry in the bride's parish. Note that the birth record shows George for his father's name, but the marriage record shows Jeoffrey. You can find further online records for the family on irishgeneaology.ie under the civil records tab. The registration district to input is Kenmare.

Carolyn

His siblings were Patrick 1867, Michael 1869, and Geoffrey 1871 (I found him, as well as John, on Irishgenealogy- Church Records Welcome to Irish Genealogy - Irish Genealogy).

Since they were buried in Lauragh, maybe they went to St. Killian.
