I am an American, with dual nationality with Ireland, whose great grandfather James Murphy was born in 1847 in Danesfort, his father having been John Murphy, also of Danesfort. I am hoping to make contact with any of my distant cousins who might be living in or around Danesfort.

A quick check of 1901 census shows two Murphy families living in Danesfort and also I believe there are some of that name still living there,am not sure if you are familiar with the game of hurling but there is a Paul Murphy from Danesfort playing on the Kilkenny team at present .
Check the census and let me know if you see any connection .
