My 3rd great-grandmoter was Ellen Rooney (c.1808). Her parents were John Roany and Judith Buggy. Her birthplace was Brittas, Freshford, Kilkenny. She married Daniel Cashin of Ballinakill, Laois. They lived in Killahy, Urlingford for at least a little while as my 2nd great-grandmother, Catherine/Judith was born there. We know that Ellen came to America and settled in West Hurley, NY along with Catherine and several other children who emigrated here. A couple of her children emigrated to Austalia.
Any family connections would be terrific. :)

Roots Ireland has a baptismal record in Urlingford RC parish for a Judith Cashin on November 8, 1838 with parents Daneil Cashin and Ellen Rooney. The sponsors were William Rooney and Ellen Rooney. There are three other baptismal records for these parents: Edmund 1826 John 1827 Mary 1829. I also saw another record where the father was Daniel Cashin and the mother was not listed but there was an annotation that Daniel and Ellen had nine other children. Here is the parish register for Urlingford which goes back to 1805. Possibly you can locate more baptismal records for other siblings.

I was unable to locate a baptismal record for Ellen or a marriage record.
