This is what I know my GGG Grandfather Edward Daly married Mary Begg on June 6th 1818 in Kells. They had three sons Patrick (1821), Peter (1831), and Edward (1837). Edward married Catherine Conlon on Nov. 20th 1864 also in Kells. They had six children Mary (1865), Thomas (1867), Peter (1869), Julia (1871), Joseph (1874), and Edward (1876). My Great Grandfather Thomas came to the U.S. in 1892. In the 1901 Ireland Census Edward is listed as living at 22 Carrick Street a widower, Son Peter and also a grand daughter Mary. In the 1911 Census Edward is listed along with children Mary, Thomas, Peter, Julia, and Joseph. Six children are listed as being born to Edward 5 living. I believe son Edward has passed because I find no records on him. Daughter's Julia and Mary are listed as married and show families of their own. My questions are why would my great grandfather be listed on the census when he was living in New Jersey at this time and why are Mary and Julia listed with their maiden names not married names? What I am looking for is any information on my GG Grandmother Catherine Conlon and her family. GG Grandfather Edward, Mary, Julia, Peter, Joseph, Edward and grand daughter Mary? Thank you for your time.

I stated in my initial message that my grandfather was James Daly who settled in Lawrence MA. His brother was Bernard Daly who became a St. Augustinian priest at Villanova Univ. in 1897 and was ordained in 1902. His birth is recorded as 1871 in Kells Ireland. I don't know where James or his brothers John and Patrick and sister Margaret were born or when any of them entered the U.S. Any info you may share would be greatly appreciated and, of course, any information I receive I will gladly pass along.
