Dear All, I am looking for my husband's family history. Rumor has that these famiy's were related in Ireland, but I do not have the links - but they did end up being pioneers in settling western NSW in Australia.
Catherine Flynn (1819-1875) married "my" Michael Kelly in 1841 in Maitland NSW. She came to Australia in 1839 with her mother, Mary (nee McNamara) Flynn (1770-1865). Mary was the daughter of Mary Hutchinson and ?? McNamara. John Flynn or Flinn was listed as deceased in 1839. his children were Margaret (1807-??) John A Flynn (1809-1895), Catherine, Unknown, and Bridget ??. They all came to Australia. I would be very appreciative if anyone had any clues about these interwoven families. In the Roscommon message board, I am looking for Michael Kelly as we may have a DNA link to a Catherine Kelly there. I have DNA and tree on Ancestry "Annie Kelly family Tree 4" and have just posted same on Gedmatch. thanks in advance, Sue Larson Kelly.

Sue:
Welcome to ireland Reaching Out!
Unfortunately, the RC parish records for Maryborough/Portlaoise start in 1826 and it appears all of your Flynn ancestors were before 1826. I also checked the Tithe listings (late 1820s) and did not see a John Flynn record in the area
Hopefully your DNA efforts will identify a match that will assist with more information on this line.
