Hello

I am researching my ancestors James Ambrose and Mary Magrath, both of whom list Limerick as their native place.  It is possible they may have lived in the Ballingarry region.

James Ambrose, born approx 1817, arrived in Australia on the ship Brankenmoor on 3 December 1841.  James was a bounty immightant brought to Australia by Jonathan B. Were of Kent & Co. His calling was as a House Servant.

Mary Magrath, born approx 1822, arrived in Australia on the ship Mary Nixon on 30 November 1841.  Mary was a bounty immigrant brought to Australia by Jonathan B. Were of Kent & Co.  Her calling was as a House Servant.

As James and Mary arrived in Australia 3 days apart, and were brought to Australia by the same person, it is possible they already knew each other as they married 2 months after arrival.

I would appreciate hearing from anyone with information regarding this couple.

Thank you

Cath Young

I'm afraid there are 65 Mary Magrath matches for the same years in Limerick but none is from Ballingarry (either  R C or C of I)
