Richard:
I searched the Roots Ireland indexes from 1829-1839 for a Mary Begley baptismal record in Ballylanders with parents named John and Mary but did not find a record. However, the Ballylanders baptismal records do not start until 1842 so you may not find a record.
I also searched the Co. Westmeath records and did locate an 1830 baptismal record for a Mary Begley with parents John and Mary in the Kilcleagh RC church. Kilcleagh church is not far from Athlone. Moate is in Kilcleagh parish. I recognize that this Mary would have been 20 in 1850 but I thought I would pass on this information.
