I am looking for any information on James Enright. He was born somewhere around 1806-1811. He served in the military in India for some period of time before emigrating to Australia. He was in Australia by 1840 as evidenced by his marriage. A newspaper article on his death states:
- Mr. James Enright, a well-known resident of Wallaroo for many years, died on Tuesday afternoon at the ripe age of 85 years. He was a native of Limerick and a man of exceptionally fine physique. Daring his early man hood he served in the army and for some time was in India. When his regiment was ordered home Mr. Enright obtained his discharge and came to Australia
He appears to have had an illegitimate son, Michael, who was either born in Ireland or in Australia.
Any information on his birth or his military years would be gratefully received. I also have not been able to find the ship he would have immigrated on.
According to his marriage records, his father's name was "Michael Enright".

Tracey:
Roots Ireland www.rootsireland has an 1803 baptismal record for a James Enright with a father Michael in Co. Limerick.
This may be a little early for your James but I wanted to make you aware of the record.
The Tithes listings www.titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie has two Michael Enrights listed in Co. Limerick. No idea if there is a connection but again I wanted to make you aware of the records.
