I have ancestors Mathew O'Brien and his wife Catherine Corbett who were from Loghill. They came to Australia on the ship Aliquis in 1839 which was the beginning of the Monteagle emigrants period. Details of their emigration is fairly well documented in various records and books. I dont have much on their lives in Ireland prior to that. Mathew was a stone mason.
Mathews parents were John O'Brien and Mary Warton. Catherines were Patrick Corbett and Margaret Enright. As far as I know these four people were from Loghill; births, marriages, deaths there. I have no dates or other details.
Any information on the above would be much appreciated.

Hello again!
RC records for the parish of Loughill do not start until 1855.
I did look at the 1832 Tithe listings for Loughill/Loghill parish and there is a John O'Brien with a very small holding in Carrowbane Beg townland. http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/reels/tab//004625694/00…
Possible lead.

I have a Bridget Corbett that married Martin Godfrey who were from Corgrig, Shanagolden. Their daughter Mary Godfrey O’Donnell emigrated to Australia with her children. Bridget might be a sibling of your Catherine.

Hello I have a Michael Murphy in my tree born July 1844 and married to a Margaret Enright both of Loghill area. Michael and Margaret left for Australia May 1860 headed to a Michael Shananhan in North Melbourne. Michael's brothers posted a search quest in The Boston Pilot. The brothers looking were Daniel Murphy of Chicago and Patrick Murphy of Pulaski County IL. The brothers ask that California papers also copy.
So I don't know if that helps but I am sure this Margaret Enright is linked up to your family somehow!
