Hello
I'm searching for any information about my 3rd great grandfather Edmund Croke or Crook. He was born in Ballingarry in 1801. Edmund married Ellen Egan in 1822 in Ballingarry and in 1840 they came to Sydney Australia on the 'Isabella' 18/10/1840. His occupation was listed as a Farm Labourer, they already had 7 kids. Edmund was 39 and his name was spelt as Crook on the arrival notice.
Ellen's fathers name was Edward Egan b.1775 and her mother was Mary Walsh b. about 1775.
Ellen was born in Ballingarry in 1802.
I'm not sure if Edmund's father was a Thomas Croke b.1768.
Can anyone give me any information on their life in Ireland and why they came to Australia or if he had siblings? It would be very much appreciated.
Thank you
Di.
