O'Halloran/Fitzgibbon/Dwyer/Cooney of Fanningstown/Garryellen/Manister/Croom

We are trying to find out about our grandmother's family. Margaret Mary O'Halloran was born 19 April 1886 in Fanningstown.She emigrated in 1909 and was married to Charles McCarthy of the Square in Rathkeale in Chicago in 1912.

Margaret's parents were Michael O'Halloran (bap 15 Dec 1852 in Manister) and Mary Fitzgibbon who were married 31 july 1877 at Fedamore RC Church. Michael was from Garryellen and Mary from Rockfield. They had as many as 15 children with Margaret the 7th child.

Mary's sister was Anne Fitzgibbon bap 11 March 1860 in Fedemore. Ann emigrated to the US, assuming Chicago. Ann was the one the other's followed to the US, but we can't find emigration records on her or any other trace.

We have a family legend that the O'Halloran family lived at 'Oldfield Estate', but we can not locate this place. Could it be renamed? Could it be Beechmont Demense near Rathkeale where they lived from 1890 to 1901 (at least)? This family ended up in Rathkeale in the 1911 census on Main Street.

Mary Fitzgibbon's parents were James Fitz and Anna Dwyer who married in Manister 20 Nov. 1845. Other children were Thomas (Nov 1846) and James (1851).

Michael's father was Michael who died at Beechmont as caretaker in Dec 1889 per the Mount St Lawrence cem. records. We think he was from Clare according to family legend, and we are trying to make this connection. His mother was Margaret Cooney bap.at Manister 04 Oct 1833, parents James Cooney and Maria Sheahan.

The O'Hallorans appeared to be moving around a lot. I know it was famine years and post-famine years.

So, trying to find traces of Ann Fitzgibbon, location of Oldfield Estate, Clare connections for the O'Hallorans and anything else.
