Hoping for some assistance with general question regarding church locations in Co. Limerick. I have a marriage that is listed as occurring in Monagea Parish in 1833. The entry (in Latin) states on 19 February 1833 Patrick Foley of Castletown married Catherine O’Donnell of this parish (‘de hac cura’). Is it possible to determine which church this wedding actually occurred in? I am planning a trip to Ireland in September and would like to visit if there is any type of structure still extant. I have similar questions regarding some baptisms in Feenagh-Kilmeedy if anyone has knowledge of such things.

I came across this article which may interest you, it appears that the original church in Monagea was replaced in 1839 so after your relatives marriage but the ruin of that church is in the old graveyard in Monagea.

Hey Eileen, thanks. The wording in there is a bit tricky. I reread it a number of times to clarify and it's not clear to me if they are referring to this as being the church in use prior to completion of the 1839 church or if this is the ruin of the 1306 church.
