My maternal grandmother, Mary Hughes, was on the 1901 Census Record of Attymas, Co. Mayo under her father, Richard's entry. I cannot locate any other info about others in the family. I believe her mother, Bridget was born as Igo or Igoe. Mary came to Boston, Massachusetts in about 1911.
Can anybody help me? Much appreciated...Jayne Buckley Sykes (email Jaynenh@gmail.com)

The 1911 census for the townland of Derrynabaunshy shows that Richard and Bridget had an astonishing 17 children, of whom 9 were still alive. 7 of those are listed and two are not. Mary is one of the missing ones and so had perhaps already left for the USA.

What looks to be Richard’s marriage to Bridget Igoe was registered in Swineford Jan – Mar 1884 Vol 4, page 347.
Griffiths Valuation for 1856 lists an Anthony & Bridget Hughes in Derrynabaunshy, each with a separate house, but sharing the land with some other farmers. LIkely to be related to Richard.

Jayne:
Here is the info from the January 14, 1884 marriage of Richard and Bridget. They were married in the RC church of Killasser. According to the transcription of the civil record, Richard was from Derreens (possibly Derreen) townland and his father was Thomas Hughes. Bridget was from Curley townland. There is no Curley townland so I think she was from Corlee townland in Killasser civil parish
