The townland spelling is Darhanagh. Was your grandfather born in 1908 or 1909. If so, this may be the 1911 census record for his family. The record shows his parents and his paternal grandfather.

If this is not your grandfather, what year was he born?

The next census was 1926. Currently, this census is scheduled to be released to the public in 2026 but there is a lot of pressure to have this census released in 2016, the 100th anniversary of the Easter rebellion.

  • My mother was a Convey and her parents were John and Winifred. I don’t know any details about them other than my grandfather Convey was a cobbler. My mother’s name was Eliza (Lily) and I think she was one of 12. It is hard to find any remaining Conveys in Mayo tho I do know I have one distant cousin still living in Swinford.

    Regards Mary
