I thought I would post a note since there seems to be a fair number of messages about Armstrongs in various counties.

I had a great great Aunt named Margaret Simons (of Kildrumsherdan parish, Co Cavan) who married Robert Armstrong. The Armstrong family rented lands from a Lord Cremorne in the townlands of Drumgarkin (Drumgasckin) and Drumanny, Ematris parish, Co Monaghan in the early 1800s.

I have a bit of information about the Armstrong family, and where Margaret and Robert's ancestors are now in case anyone is interested.

  • Dear Emma, Interested to see your board. My grandmother was from Tattincake beside Drum.  Her cousin ? Robert [1876-1973 ] was a national school teacher living in Drumgarkin in the census of 1911.Trying to find where this family originated. Best wishes
