In the meantime, have you tried looking at church records? Perhaps you may be lucky and find a record of Patrick?s (1805) marriage. Most Catholic records are held locally so you may need to write to the local parish priest for possible assistance. One website that you may find useful is the Irish Times where they give an overview of what records are available in specific parishes. It also shows you where copies of the records are available. Slieveroe is part of Kilmore civil parish. This civil parish falls under the Catholic parish of Drunsant. To see what is available there follow this link:

www.familysearch.org has a huge database of genealogical records including some church records for Ireland.
www.rootsireland.ie have a large collection of Irish Church records, however you have to pay to use this site.

You need to buy credits to look at the actual record however. Given the dates of births of his children I would say maybe the top three would be the most likely-however they may also not be relevant.
Civil registration began in Ireland in 1864 so you should be able to find Patrick?s (1867) birth record in these civil records. This would also give you his mother?s name. Civil records are available from the General Register?s Office. Here are their contact details:
