I have found my gggrandfather and mother (Michael Daly and Sara Brennan) married in Tehallan 1835 RC. I have also found baptisims of their 4 daughters (Ann 1836, Margaret 1838, Elanore 1843 and Catherine 1846). I am searching for their only son Francis born in 1841 or 1842. I can find no trace of him in Tehallan.....however, looking at dates of his sister's baptisms...it seems to make sense he was also born and baptized their. As additional information....by March, 1847 Michael and Sara and the above mentioned children were on the ship Sarah and Louisa heading for America. They arrived in New Orleans May, 1847. I have the ships manifest and Michael's nationalizations papers. They settled in Decatur Co. Indiana.
Any help on finding Francis will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
I can't tell from your note if you have reviewed the parish register http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0320 Maybe the handwriting of the priest made it difficult to correctly transcribe his baptism.

Thank you for responding so quickly. Yes, I have reviewed it numerous times. The hand writing of the priest is actually pretty good. It is the same priest for all the documentation mentioned in my last note (marriage and baptisms). I will be in Ireland (County Monaghan....Tyholland) in October. Would there be somewhere in that area that would have records?

Sorry, that I'm just getting back to you. The only records that would be available would be at the church and they have the original register that you already reviewed. Co. Monaghan is one of the few counties where we do not have a local presence for Ireland Reaching Out.
