IWelcome back! I'm aware you posted earlier this month. I checked Roots Ireland and the records for Killoughly Church of Ireland parish are not available on Roots. The only Sweetman baptismal record in the Geashill C of I church was in 1854 an is shown below. I also looked for Brereton and there were quite a few but no Harriett. The closest was an Eliza in 1819 which is shown below. The 1853 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing showed a John Brereton in Killurin. I coould not find any Sweetman records in Killoughy.

  • Hello Roger....I am SO  sorry for not replying earlier to your message! I only just saw it now. Thankyou very much for looking into that for me.

I wonder if it is possible that the John Sweetman you mention could have been a brother to our James Sweetman. I have a copy of James Marriage Certificate where he married Harriet which is where I got the above information on. Attached below.

I just need a trip to Ireland hey!

    Regards, Janelle

  • Janelle:

James and John could be brothers and Harriett and Eliza could be sisters.
