Hi there,
May I ask you why you have picked Killoughy? Do you know for certain that that is the parish they were from?
If so, there are Roman Catholic church records for that parish starting from 1821 (baptismal and marriage records). These can be accessed at the NationalLibrary of Ireland, Pos. 4175, or at the Church of Latter Day Saints, ref. no. 0926171.
If you have any difficulty, you could try writing to the parish priest for information.
You could also check the land records called the Tithe Applotment Books (1823-38) and the later Griffith's Valuation (1848-64). Griffith's is freely available here: www.askaboutireland.com
Please make sure you link anyone else in your family who is interested in their Irish heritage to our site - and indeed anyone else you know of Irish heritage.
Kind regards,

Hi Sinead,
Thank-you for your reply and information. After posting on the " Killoughy Parish" I realized that that was presumptuous of me and posted on the "Offaly" one soon after.Choosing "killoughy Parish" was and is an educated guess brought on by what little amount of free information one can glean from "Offaly".They seem overly tight with their genealogy info.Sorry to sound so bitter, but one gets frustrated when going around in circles fending off constsnt attempts at my shallow pockets from would-be sites that take my hard-earned research in for free then try to market it back at me.
" It would seem in ways my descendants were robbed of their future, and we are robbed of their pasts."
On a more positive note,I am fully behind your initiative and have sent requests for family and even the "Killoughy Parish" to join your movement.
I strongly believe once people start making connections in Ireland they can fore-go the fustrations of constant "brick-walls"and concentrate on their next level of research, which would invaribly lead them to Ireland and spending their genealogy dollars a thousand-fold supporting all of their local economies.(It costs money too make money)Yet this is free information belonging to forbears that have taken the initiative to seek. Not only is this financially responsible for all areas of Ireland,It is also socially important in keeping the past alive within every community in Ireland and abroad where young and old can work together in keeping the dead alive.

Hi there,
Thank you very much for your message. It's no harm to leave the message in the Killoughy parish mesage board. Having it in both the county and parish profile pages will open the query to more people.
Thank you very much for letting others know of our project. The more people to who and join the worldwide community the better!
Best of luck with your research.
Kind regards,
Sinead
